Tours, talks and more at MAAS

Reigning Men Curator Tour, 6 October 2pm: Exploring the history of men’s fashionable dress from the 18th century to the present. A riot of colour and style, thisis the largest and most important menswear exhibition ever assembled, and explodes the myth that menswear is restrained.

Common Good  Floor Talk, 13 October 2pm: A survey of contemporary design from the Asia-Pacific region, exploring design-led responses to social, ethical and environmental challenges. A core underpinning theme is Return to Craft, as a means to preserve cultural heritage and in response to diminishing natural resources and population pressures.

Reflections of Asia: Collectors and Collections: MAAS showcases how Australians have perceived the idea of Asia through collecting items and souvenirs, and how Asian cultures, art and technologies have inspired Western artists and makers.

Fantastical Worlds: This installation celebrates MAAS collection and the boundless imagination of practitioners who create objects that intrigue, inspire and instil a sense of wonder. Through the playful arrangements of the old and the new, it reveals the creative brilliance behind objects made from the 1600s to now.
