Basket Making Open Day with Basketry NSW Inc

Basketry NSW Inc. aims to promote appreciation of baskets, keep traditional basketry skills alive, and explore new forms of artistic expression using basket making techniques. At our Basket Making Open Day, you can discover this contemplative, enduring craft for yourself. See basket makers at work and try out some basketry techniques free of charge in mini-workshops with our supportive tutors.

Already a basket maker? Bring your project along and relax with our friendly group. Our members are interested in natural fibres and a wide variety of other materials and they make work ranging from functional vessels to sculptural forms. Beautiful contemporary baskets and sculptures will be on display, with some work for sale. Please note: all children must be supervised by an adult.

Details: Saturday 6 October, 11am – 3pm
