Atomic Ottoman Workshop at Studio MAAIKE

Atomic Ottoman Workshop with Studio MAAIKE

Learn the basics of contemporary upholstery in a vibrant class of makers, fabric fanatics and furniture enthusiasts. Over the course of this one-day workshop you’ll transform a simple frame into your own creative statement. Beginning with a locally made ottoman base, you'll learn to apply hessian, work with foam and wadding and apply fabric, piping and buttons before topping it off with a professional dust cover and adding Australian turned timber legs. The day includes breaks for morning tea (supplied), and easy access to gourmet lunch goodies from the Carriageworks farmer’s market below our class room. Course cost includes the ottoman base and all upholstery supplies. Students are requested to supply their own fabric – this is a chance to get creative, upcycle tea towels, favourite clothing, remnants and more. A fabric source guide is sent to you upon enrolment and will answer all your questions.

Details: Saturday 7 October, 9am – 4pm, $330
